I'm looking for my brother who was born in Haifa in the Hadassah Hospital on December 6, 1934 and supposedly died on July 28, 1935. I have a verification of a birth certificate I received from the Ministry of Interior archive. My brother's name is Haim Yackobovitch and my parents’ names are Avraham and Ruth. According to my mother who has passed away the baby fell sick with diarrhea and vomiting and was taken to Hadassah Hospital in Haifa. My mother was with the baby all day. The next day when she returned to the hospital she was told that the child died. They made a show of a funeral, not less, but when they reached the place of the funeral they did not find any grave. These were twenty-two-year-old, well-educated people who immigrated from Germany and apparently people took advantage of their situation. My parents came from Breslau Germany in 1933, with no relatives. They were stunned from the blow that landed on them, they did not know who to turn to and what to do in their heavy mourning. They had no address to turn to for help. Both I and my brother dreamed of him. My parents died over ten years ago. All the years I felt that something had died in my mother at a young age because of this incident. All of her family perished in the Holocaust and here this unimaginable incident happened to her. I hope there will be results - if not for us, than for other families.
