Rachel and Matityahu Shirazi

My parents, Rachel and Matityahu Shirazi, immigrated to Israel from Persia in 1958 with my two brothers.

My sister was born in 1959 and two years later, my brother David was born.

Around 1962, my mother gave birth to a healthy boy in Rebecca House hospital in Safed.

When my father arrived at the hospital to see the baby he was told the baby had died.

My mother left the hospital with a certificate of release, a document stating that her son was born alive.

There was no mention of the child’s supposed death in the certificate but my parents could not read and write and did not understand the language well, so they did not contact anyone about this contradiction.

This matter brought my mother a lot of sorrow. She was sure her baby was taken away from her and that conviction accompanies us to this day.

Over the years, we received a draft notice. Unfortunately, these two documents are no longer in our possession because my parents renovated their house and the documents were lost.

We still have some kind of hope that this lost/kidnapped son will suddenly come to us. He is probably wondering why we're not looking for him?

Why we never made contact? The answer is that we have no clue where he is.

We would much appreciate it if you could help us locate our brother. Finding him will, no doubt, give my 96 years old mother longevity, happiness and joy.

To this day we have some kind of hope that our lost/kidnapped son will suddenly come to us. He is probably wondering why we're not looking for him. Why we never made contact. The answer is that we have no idea where he is, and have no leads.
