In 1949, a baby girl named Shushi was born to the Amosi family. David and Rosson Amosi, in the Olim camp (Immigrant camp) in Goren. When the baby was about six months old, my grandmother, who barely knew Hebrew, was told that the baby was sick and had to be taken to the clinic. The nurse was from Kibbutz Ayalon. After two days, my grandmother was told that the baby had died. My mother and her brothers enjoyed looking at [the baby girl] and her blue eyes, the sad news that she passed away was shocking for them. She was not sick at all. How did she die? And all these years my mother has this gut feeling that her sister exists in Kibbutz Ayalon.

I am a tour guide and countless times I gave my mother a tour of the area just to calm her conscience. Until now we haven't found anyone who looks like my mother or one of her sisters, unfortunately.
