Georgette Benodiz

My parents immigrated from Morocco in 1948 with my sisters and a four month old baby, she contracted diarrhoea and father took her to the hospital (they do not remember if it was the hospital in Zrifin or Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot).

When he returned the following day he was told that she had died but he wasn't shown a body or a death certificate. He was told that she was buried in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery, but my father went there and found nothing.

When she reached military recruitment age my parents received a recruitment notice, and they also came from the military to look for her.

About 18 years ago they came from the population census and asked about her.

In 1956 we learned that she had received ringworm treatment at Tel Hashomer Hospital and was registered with Clalit Health Services until 1956.

When I found this out I went to the Ministry of Interior to ask for her death certificate. I was told that there is no record of her death.

I hope we will get to the truth.
